'Cawdrey’s main sources were Thomas Thomas’s Latin Dictionarium of 1587..(and) The English school-maister, by Edmund Coote,' (Hanks, 2004) Includes instructions for the reader as to how they should find words they are looking for. Epistle states that Cawdrey was in Coventry at this point, which may refer to the city or the state of banishment after losing his tenure at Luffenham.
