Short description: | Select Committee on child labour
Medium description: | Robert Peel the elder makes renewed attempt to restrict conditions of the employment of child labour and a Select Committee on child labour is set up. Unlike his earlier bill, this was an attempt to affect the employment of all children employed in factories not just those apprenticed by local authorities. Dramatically reduced in scope before its eventual passing by the Commons it applied only to children working in cotton mills between the ages of 9 and 13.
